Meet the team

Brian Carruthers

Brian Carruthers,
Chairman & Chief Executive

Brian has spent a long and successful career in Industry and decided to join Tempest in 2006 to help out with the problems caused by MG-Rovers demise. Friarsgate, as the business was then known, suffered like many other dealers from the manufacturers collapse. But Friarsgate was different. It had a huge loyal following of very satisfied customers and a hard working, highly skilled and dedicated staff. Brian saw this and decided to stay and invest in the future of the dealership which now holds the Ford franchise.
Find out why Brian fell in love with the new Ford Mondeo.

Lee Dutton Sharon Workman

Lee Dutton (left) & Sharon Workman (right),
Customer Services Managers

Lee and Sharon are the people most people who visit Tempest see first. You will find them both working busily away in our Service reception area and they are always busy. Our car servicing is such great value and customers come back time and time again. Despite being rushed of their feet most days, they will always find time for a friendly smile and chat. They are also very good at getting your car booked in at the time and date you want.

Darren Jarvis

Darren Jarvis,
Workshop Controller

Darren's worked for Tempest since 2001 and now runs the workshop. Darren is well known for waxing his legs and persuading his work mates to jump out of aeroplanes. We should say this is all in a good cause. Darren's leg waxing and parachute jumps are all about raising money for Cancer Research. The thing Darren enjoys most about working at Tempest Ford is the great bunch of people he works with who have supported him when he's needed it most. Darren is the proud owner of a stunning MG ZS 180 and would only swap it for a Ford Mustang Bullet. He also wont hear a word against the Austin Allegro. His first car was a 1300 Super which he describes as "a beauty". In his spare time, Darren coaches the under 14 Chasetown Girls football team which his daughters (his real pride & joy) belong to.

But his favourite car is the Ford Escort RS Turbo Mark 3. "It just looked so good. It's a real classic car." says Nick.

Behind the scenes

Colin Brown

Roger Fathers, Finance Director; Juliet Furneaux & Trudy Ridgway, Business Development Co-ordinators; Julie Chalke & Penny Bradley, Finance Administrators;
All too modest to be photographed. As Roger says "Our job is to make sure everything runs smoothly. We are the behind the scene staff and wish to keep it that way. If customers see what we do it probably means we aren't doing it right." We are pleased to report, that they are doing a brilliant job. Well our customers have no idea who they are, so they must be.
